Blue Light is a police youth programme designed to encourage better relations between the police, young people, their parents and the community. It achieves this by involving young people in supervised cultural, social and sporting activities in an environment free from alcohol, drugs and violence. An average of 120,000 young people attend to Blue Light function in Queensland each year, participating in activities such as dances, skating, movie nights, pool parties, bmx racing and camps.
4KQ Children’s Christmas Party
The aim of the 4KQ Variety Special Children's Christmas Party is to provide in excess of 3,000 children with a day they will never forget.
The children come from four major groups: The terminally ill, the intellectually impaired, physically impaired and also the underprivileged who may be suffering from domestic violence or physical abuse. Children arrive from all over South East Queensland, from as far north as Bundaberg, west to Roma and south to Tweed Heads.
